On this page we highlight some of the ways genetic testing is conducted in genetic ALS & FTD. End the Legacy firmly believes that all people pursuing genetic testing for these mutations should receive genetic counseling beforehand. Some of these services provide that. But be vigilant that you receive it!

There are implications for insurance coverage, relationships and other facets of life that everyone must consider before undergoing genetic testing, and genetic counselors are trained to do just that.  We cannot stress this enough do not undergo genetic testing without first engaging in genetic counselling!
