Care and Guidance for the Genetic ALS & FTD Community

People and families affected by genetic risk for ALS and FTD may want access to genetic counseling, knowledgeable clinicians, and information about options for clinical monitoring. Others may choose not to pursue genetic testing or monitoring. ETL helps community members understand and navigate these personal choices.

For those who wish to pursue it, clinical monitoring can help establish a baseline, address concerns, and evaluate possible signs of disease. Decisions about genetic testing and monitoring should be made in consultation with qualified health professionals.

Listen to Michael’s story about seeking clinical monitoring and receiving an early ALS diagnosis.
